Tour the Valley on the best gravel around. Long steep climbs and sweeping downhills with gorgeous mountain views.
Leave Madbush and head south on route 100 for 2.5 miles and then make a left into the historic town of Warren and the start of the gravel. Fuller Hill Rd will definitely get the legs warmed up. A steep but rewarding climb gets you off the valley floor and into the rolling foothills of the Northfield Mountains. The next 9 miles are almost entirely gravel with only a small pavement climb in the middle.
The Warren Common Rd is gorgeous with huge views of the Monroe Skyline, classic old barns and the Von Trapp Farmstead. Rip down a smooth descent back to the valley floor and it's time for the biggest climb of the day. 7.5 miles and 1,500’ of gravel brings you to the highpoint of the day and the top of a long descent back into Waitsfield.
You’ll leave Waitsfield heading towards the Green Mountains and make a right onto Marble Hill Rd, a relatively short but steep climb onto a cool offroad connection that will bring you up to Sugarbush.
West Hill to Lincoln Gap Rd is a sweet downhill and brings you to Warren for the second time on the ride. The last climb up the day is a steep grind up Dump Rd to the final downhill of the day. Airport Rd has some classic vermont scenery and one of the best downhills around.
