Endless views, countless cows & the best dirt roads

Surface: Mostly paved
Distance: 16 mi (26 km)
Vertical: 1,677 ft (511 m)
The guided ride has been built with one goal in mind. Show off the best views, highlight local stores and experience what the Mad River Valley is all about.
The biggest climb of the day starts from Madbush Falls and climbs 450' out of the valley floor, and into rolling farm fields. The next 6 miles are chalk full of historic barns, active farms and more cows than you can count.
At the north end of the Common Rd, you'll reach the Von Trapp Farm Store. A locally owned and operated store full of Vermont cheese, beer and an incredible selection of tinned fish.
The best part of this route is you get a taste of all aspects of riding in Vermont. Smooth dirt roads, pristine pavement sections with limited car traffic and a short taste of Vermont's famous class IV roads.
At the 11 mile mark, you'll hit East Warren Community Market. This is the perfect spot for a lunch break in the yard with some incredible views of the Monroe Skyline. There are plenty of food options here including premade sandwiches, drinks and snacks.
After a lunch break, you're greeted with the longest descent of the day, dropping you nearly 800' back to the valley floor. Here you'll join the Mad River Path as it meanders along the river banks and back to Madbush Falls.
This route has been designed in collaboration with Ramble & Roam, a guiding company run by locals and focused on showing you the best of Vermont. If you'd like to learn more or book a ride, check out ramblexroam.com
