Tour the Valley on the Best Gravel Around. Long, steep climbs, smooth descents, and stunning mountain views on some of the finest gravel roads in the area.
Start at Madbush and head south on Route 100 for 2.5 miles before turning left into the historic town of Warren—where the gravel begins. Fuller Hill Road will definitely wake up your legs. This steep but rewarding climb lifts you off the valley floor and into the rolling foothills of the Northfield Mountains.
Over the next 9 miles, you’ll ride mostly on gravel, with just a short paved climb in the middle. Warren Common Road is especially scenic, with sweeping views of the Monroe Skyline, classic old barns, and the iconic Von Trapp Farmstead. Rip down a smooth descent back to the valley, and it’s time for the biggest climb of the day: 7.5 miles and 1,500 feet of gravel to the ride’s high point, followed by a long descent into Waitsfield.
Leaving Waitsfield, you’ll head toward the Green Mountains before turning left onto Marble Hill Road—a short but steep climb that connects to a fun off-road section leading up to Sugarbush.
From there, enjoy the sweet downhill on West Hill and Lincoln Gap Road as you make your way back to Warren. The final climb is a steep grind up Dump Road, followed by one last descent. Airport Road delivers classic Vermont scenery and one of the best downhills of the day.
