Fat Biking
The Vermont Mountain Bike Association (VMBA) is your resource for all winter biking in Vermont. A selection of mountain biking trails are groomed by our local organizations. With the right gear to stay warm, Fat Biking is the smooth, easy cousin of mountain biking.

Blueberry Lake: The Mad River Riders grooms these trails all winter.. Not to be confused with Blueberry Lake XC Center (which also offers fat biking), Blueberry Lake is the kid-friendly, scenic fun intermediate option in the summer–and it’s also that in the winter.
Perry Hill: The Waterbury Area Trails alliance grooms the lower trails at Perry Hill, which are a lovely sunny south-facing option on a cold winter day. The gnarly upper trails aren’t open in the winter, but the smooth flowy lower trails are perfect for fat biking.
The Driving Range: The new, big, burly, sendy zone 30 minutes from Madbush, the Driving Range is also open in the wintertime, maintained by the Richmond Trails Association
