Stats:

  • SURFACE TYPE: Mostly unpaved

  • DISTANCE: 86 mi (138 km)

  • VERTICAL: 9,200' (2,800 m)

A big and burly route that heads north through Waterbury and Stowe. It starts with a steep climb over Roxbury gap with views back towards the Green Mountains and the Sugarbush Resorts. Continue towards Moretown gap where you will be greeted by a steep and fast descent on the other side. A few quick connections will bring you down to route 100 where you will cross and ride some more dirt to route 2. Follow route 2 into Waterbury where there are plenty of places to refuel for the next portion of the ride.

Another climb will get you out of Waterbury and on your way to Stowe. Along the way you will get fantastic views and quiet back roads.

When you arrive in Stowe there are again plenty of food and drink options. You will take the bike path a few miles north and do another climb up to Trapp Family lodge.

A steep descent is on the otherside which will drop you right into Little River State Park. This part of the ride is epic and will bring you back across the ridge into Waterbury.

From Waterbury back to Madbush is more climbing on class 4 roads, cruising along smooth gravel and plenty of epic descents.
